Olivia Rogalla
Born in New York, Olivia Rogalla was raised in Madrid and is of Brazilian and German heritage.
Olivia’s artwork confronts the absurdities and contradictions of human presence within spaces, urging viewers to focus on the overlooked and uncover the stories behind the discarded. By incorporating cartoon-like characters, she adds a playful yet thought-provoking dimension to her subjects.
Embracing her cultural background and neurodiversity, her creations explore various realities while presenting the human body as an integral element in the ecosystem of a room, emphasizing its significance or insignificance by portraying it as an equal participant in the space.
Influenced by DADA, Surrealism and Cubism, Olivia brings a blend of traditions and innovation to her work while giving her subjects a Cartoonlike personality, adding a playful yet thought-provoking dimension to her work.

The artist works in formats such as painting, illustration, photography and sculpture. Currently, she is pursuing his fundamental studies in arts and artistic professions at the Escuela Sur del Círculo de Bellas Artes. Soon, it will be part of the production of the contemporary art fair Art Madrid.
Maldonado's work delves into social coexistence and spirituality through media such as acrylic, oil and collage. Her art invites us to reflect on our role on Earth and the meaning of life.
Artist residency open call.
rolling basis application
ORA contemporary is open to applications for its Art Residency program — an exclusive opportunity for emerging artists to develop their practice within an inspiring and international creative hub. Located in Madrid’s dynamic Carabanchel district, the residency combines dedicated studio time with tailored mentorship from gallerists, artists, and cultural professionals, offering both creative guidance and professional insight. Residents benefit from one-to-one mentorship with cultural connector Ana Barrenechea, and conclude their stay with a public exhibition in ORA’s gallery space. More than a residency, it is a community: a supportive network where ideas flow, collaborations emerge, and artists of all disciplines are invited to expand their horizons.
Who Should Apply
We welcome emerging artists (18+) from all disciplines and backgrounds who are ready to share their voice.
While we encourage applications from those based in Madrid, international artists are also welcome, as long as they can join us for the final exhibition in the city.
This opportunity is ideal for artists who are curious, open to learning, and excited to grow, while building lasting creative and professional connections.
Selection Process
Applications will only be accepted through the official form. Submissions via email or other channels will not be considered. All applications will be reviewed by the ORA Contemporary team, with selection based on artistic merit, clarity of motivation, and alignment with the residency’s mission to support emerging artists.
Application fee of 30EUR
The application fee helps us honor the time and care that goes into reviewing each submission. It ensures that multiple professionals from the field thoughtfully engage with every application. Even if you are not selected, your work will be seen, remembered, and kept in mind by experts in ORA’s community.
